Darcy O’Connell-Bristow a.k.a. Doc B is a producer and label owner. He began producing in late 2010 at the age of 18. It was at “Access to Music” in Norwich, that Doc B learned the basics of music production and music business. Just a few months later Doc B started getting recognition for productions such as “Quantum” and “Down the rabbit hole”, played by DJ’s at clubs and raves across the UK and abroad. After experiencing the high demand for his music, Doc B setup his own record label, Blackout Recordings in early 2011.
His first release was “Quantum”, which sold well, not just in the UK, but in Europe and the United States, reaching the number 1 spot in Juno Download’s hard trance bestsellers charts. Doc B’s next release, “Down the rabbit hole”, received sales and plays all across the globe, including the UK, Europe, North and South America. It again held the top spot in Juno download’s hard trance charts and was also selected for the ‘Juno recommends’ playlist. Blackout has come on leaps and bounds in 2011 gaining massive recognition for its relatively short lifetime. With releases from new and established artists including CAI, Zac Steele, Craig Emoson & Monomonkey and Ascendant, Gallagher & Pascoe.
2012 promises to be an exciting year for Doc B, with many projects and plans, including an upcoming vinyl EP release on Blackout, a remix of Onslow & Stlylis’ “Pink Panther” on Primitive Records and the launch of his new Breakbeat label – Warped recordings. Meanwhile Doc B continues to hone his production skills further at Guildford ACM.
